If you’ve been charged with (or convicted of) an impaired driving offense and require clinical screening and assessment services, Audubon Counseling is here to help. The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) is committed to keeping roadways safe by assuring high quality service to individuals charged with or convicted of an impaired driving offense. Providers approved by OASAS are held to clinical standards consistent with the best practices in prevention, treatment and recovery.
Barry Chapman, LCSW-R of Audubon Counseling is an approved OASAS Impaired Driver Screening Provider. His work has focused on adolescents and adults with chemical dependency and mental health disorders. He uses a very direct approach which borrows techniques from both the Motivational Interviewing Treatment model and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
Private practitioners, as well as certified providers, approved by OASAS to conduct clinical screening, assessment and treatment services for impaired driving offenders are required to adhere to the Standards for Clinical Services Provided to Individuals Arrested for an Impaired Driving Offense at all times. Providers who do not maintain compliance with the Standards shall, at OASAS’ discretion, be placed on probation, suspended or removed from the OASAS-approved Clinical Provider List. To facilitate compliance with the Standards, OASAS has developed new quality assurance tools for use by providers.
